Compare and Contrast: The U.S. Constitution and the Magna Carta


U.S Constitution
  • Talk about the rights and laws of the U.S president and the government
  • Is in much more Modern English and is easier to understand
  • Government is made up of the Legislative Branch
  • Each state has a representative
  • Much newer than the Magna Carta
  • You can vote for a new president

Magna Carta
  • Contains the laws/rights of the council 
  • Council is made up of the Pope, King, nobles, knights, and peasants
  • Older than the U.S Constitution 
  • The heir will become the next king

Similarities
  • Contains the rights of the people
  • Both have some sort of Congress
  • Both contain the laws of the country
  • Both president or kings can be dethroned depending on the people's opinion of the ruler
